About BudgetTracker
BudgetTracker is a cross-platform mobile application engineered using .NET MAUI to give users total control over their personal finances. Designed with a strict privacy-first philosophy, all transactions, savings goals, trip expense logs, and budget categories are stored locally on the user's device in an encrypted SQLite database.
To prevent accidental data loss when changing phones or restoring devices, BudgetTracker provides optional, user-initiated cloud backup and sync using Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox.

Requested OAuth Scope
BudgetTracker requests authorization for only one specific non-sensitive/sensitive Google Drive scope:

Why We Request This Permission
When you connect your Google Account in BudgetTracker settings under Cloud Backup & Restore, the application uses this scope exclusively to:
- Create a dedicated encrypted backup container file (e.g.,
budget_backup_YYYYMMDD.db.enc) inside your Google Drive storage. - List and display your previously generated BudgetTracker backup snapshots when you initiate a database restore.
- Overwrite or delete old backup snapshots upon your explicit request.

Data Storage and Token Management
OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens received from Google are stored securely on your device using OS-level secure storage primitives (Android KeyStore / iOS Keychain). Tokens are used solely to perform backup and restore operations requested directly by you.

BudgetTracker ("us", "we", or "our") operates the BudgetTracker mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.
1. Information Collection and Use
BudgetTracker is designed as an offline-first financial tracker. We do not operate custom central servers to store your financial logs or transaction history.
- Financial Records: Income, expenses, categories, savings goals, and trip records entered into BudgetTracker remain strictly local on your mobile device.
- Google Account Data: If you connect Google Drive for cloud backups, we receive basic authentication confirmation and an access token from Google. We do not store your Google password or profile information on any server.
- Device & Diagnostic Data: Mobile device OS version and crash logs may be generated locally for standard operating system diagnostics.
2. Encryption & Security
Before any backup is uploaded to your cloud storage account (Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox), the data is encrypted on your device using AES-256 encryption algorithm standards. We cannot decrypt your backups without your device keys.
3. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information or financial data with any third parties. Data is only transferred to Google Drive when you intentionally trigger a cloud backup action inside the application.
4. Data Retention & Account Deletion
Since all data resides on your device and inside your personal Google Drive storage space:
- You can instantly delete all local data by uninstalling the application or selecting "Clear All Data" in app settings.
- You can delete your cloud backups at any time directly through the Google Drive interface or within the BudgetTracker Cloud Management screen.
- You can revoke BudgetTracker's access to your Google Account at any time by visiting Google Account Security Permissions.
5. Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the BudgetTracker mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the application.
2. Use of Service
BudgetTracker is provided to assist you with personal expense organization and financial record management. You are responsible for ensuring the security of your device and keeping your master device encryption credentials secure.
3. Cloud Backup Availability
Cloud backup functionality relies on third-party service providers, including Google Cloud Platform APIs. While we make every effort to maintain compatibility, BudgetTracker is not liable for data loss caused by third-party cloud outages, network failures, or unauthorized access to your personal cloud accounts.
4. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall BudgetTracker or its developers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service.
5. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
